Do you have a Trek web site, but are you finding it hard to put up the latest Star Trek news on your site every day? Or would you like to inform your visitors when the next Enterprise episode is airing? The Trek Nation now offers you several options to automatically include up-to-date Trek content on your site, and link back to the Trek Nation at the same time! It is currently possible to add RSS feed, Javascript-based headlines and episode listings to your site - more options may be added in the future!

Regular news about all aspects of Star Trek can be found at TrekToday. To discuss the shows, head over to the Trek BBS. More information about all Trek series can be found in our Episode Guide.

RSS Feed

If you're already familiar with RSS, you can simply add our news feed at http://www.trektoday.com/headlines/rss.xml to your favorite news reader. We've also got feeds available for our two sister sites: a CSI Files feed featuring all the latest news on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami and CSI: New York, and a Get Desperate! feed, featuring daily updated Desperate Housewives news.

RSS is a new service that many sites are now using to deliver news and content directly to you, so you no longer have to click through all of these sites to see if they've updated. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary, depending on who you ask, but we prefer the first explanation, as it allows you to stay up to date with all your interests with much less effort.

In order to make use of RSS you'll need something called a feed reader -- a program that allows you to display and subscribe to as many RSS feeds as you want. Several browsers have RSS plugins available, while for others you will need a standalone program. You can find a list of such programs through Google. If you'd prefer not to download a separate program, several web sites exist that also allow you to follow several RSS feeds at the same time, including Bloglines, NewsIsFree and My Yahoo! -- click on any of these links to automatically add the TrekToday feed to those sites.

Once you've downloaded a feed reader, you should go to our RSS feed page. You'll see a page consisting of XML-coded gibberish, but once you copy the URL of the feed, choose the option to add a new feed to your feed reader, and then paste the URL in the appropriate feed, your feed reader will begin tracking TrekToday's headlines. From then on, you can just sit back and enjoy geting the latest Star Trek news delivered to your computer whenever we update our headlines.

Javascript TrekToday Headlines

Every day, TrekToday offers the latest news on upcoming Enterprise episodes, updates on the Trek actors, reviews, and much more. We offer you the chance to include all that news on your own site! Using one line of Javascript code, all recent TrekToday headlines will be inserted directly on your page as soon as they appear on TrekToday itself, giving visitors a reason to come back to your site every day.

Below is a form you may use to generate the customised Javascript code for your own site. You can choose between showing both the headlines and short news descriptions (similar to the TrekTodaymain page), or just show the headlines. You can also choose between a new window opening for each news item, or the news item loading in the same window. Finally, you can choose to display anywhere from 1 to 15 news headlines on your page.

Though this is not required, we would also appreciate it if you'd submit the URL to your site, so that we can see how you've implemented the headlines. In addition, we may add a list of links to sites using the TrekToday headlines to our site. If you submit your email address, we will inform you of any updates to this feature - we promise not to spam you.

Trek Nation Episode Listings

The Trek Nation Episode Guide contains all the important info available on Star Trek: Enterprise episodes: creative staff and guest cast listings, notes, reviews, the fans' own opinion, and more. We know how much time it takes to maintain such a guide, something that prevents most sites from maintaining an episode listing. Now, we offer you the chance to include the Trek Nation episode listings on your own site!

Using the form below, you may generate customised Javascript code allowing you to display the episode listings on your site in the format you want to. You may choose to display only the next episode to air or both last week's and next week's episode, while you can also show between 1 and 4 upcoming episodes. Several lay-out formats are also available.

Though this is not required, we would also appreciate it if you'd submit the URL to your site, so that we can see how you've implemented them. In addition, we may add a list of links to sites using the Trek Nation episode listings to our site. If you submit your email address, we will inform you of any updates to this feature - we promise not to spam you.
