Notes

  • TV Guide Description: "Trip and Reed are dispatched on a shuttle mission to investigate an asteroid field and are cut off from Enterprise, thereby becoming convinced the starship has been destroyed and that their days are numbered."

  • Rumoured to feature Tucker and Reed stranded in a shuttlepod when they return from a mission - only to find Enterprise apparently destroyed. Also said to focus heavily on Reed's character. (December 15, 2001 - TrekToday)

  • Rick Berman: "There is a show that Brannon [Braga] and I are working on right now which is a strong episode for Trip and Reed and I think will bond those two characters together." (December 22, 2001 - TrekToday)

  • Dominic Keating: "There's an episode coming up called 'Shuttlepod One,' and it's one of my most exciting and most memorable acting experiences, whether on stage or on the camera. It's between me and Trip, the engineer. We think we're marooned alone in space on Shuttlepod One. You could put this on in an off- Broadway venue and have it staged as a one-act. Rick is very pleased, and he just said some very complimentary things about it yesterday." (January 10, 2002 - TrekToday)

  • Dominic Keating: "It was quite hard filming, because in the episode we turn the thermostat down to conserve oxygen, so the temperature drops, and they built an igloo for us on Stage 8 and put six air conditioners in there with packs of dry ice, and it took the temperature down to sub-zero, and we did three days in that. It was pretty tough." (January 24, 2002 - TrekToday)

  • Dominic Keating: "This episode is some of the best work I've ever done, if I may say so. I'm really excited to see how it turns out. I think we've done something quite extraordinary." (February 2, 2002 - TrekToday)
