• Production on 'The Breach' ran from Thursday, Feburary 5 to Friday, Februrary 14. As their characters have to rappel down a rock face to rescue the Denobulan geologists, actors Anthony Montgomery, Connor Trinneer and Dominic Keating were given special rock climbing training by Enterprise stunt co-ordinator Vince Deadrick, Jr. (February 20, 2003 - TrekToday)

• Robert Duncan McNeill: "John Billingsley had a big doctor storyline, and we didn't have the third or the fourth act when we started. We got the third act on Day 2 of shooting. And then [John] had a scene one day where he was supposed to kinda break down, but we hadn't seen the fourth act. It was all about some big secret that [Phlox] was going to reveal in the fourth act - and he said to me, what is this secret? And I didn't know, none of us knew. So we made the phone calls and they gave us some idea of what it was going to be. But literally sometimes you can start shooting the episode and you don't know what the secret is that you're hiding the whole episode." (March 07, 2003 - TrekToday)

• Robert Duncan McNeill on shooting the climbing sequences: "We used every inch of that set, every angle we could find to shoot the sequence. Any place I could put the actors on the wall - I put them there. To maintain the illusion that they were travelling miles and miles, I could never shoot the whole set. We'd move the actors over ten or fifteen feet to the side and change the camera angle, and it would look like they were coming down another hundred feet below where they just had been. When the stunt sequence was finished, everyone who saw it, just looked at it and said wow, it plays beautifully. It's something out of Vertical Limit or Cliffhanger, one of those big mountain climbing movies." (April 23, 2003 - TrekToday)
